Who we are!
Have you ever thought about homeschooling your child but felt it would be too hard?
Many parents consider homeschooling but feel like it's something they could never do. They either feel they don't know enough, could never teach a lesson or they just don't know where to start. Preston Edge Academy is a Christian hybrid homeschool on a mission to make homeschooling less intimidating for parents. We want the homeschool option to be viable and affordable for all families who want to choose it for their children.
How it works
Yes! It's homeschooling, but with Preston Edge Academy parents don't need to:
- Make lesson plans.
- Choose curriculum.
- Grade papers.
Students attend school 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), 8:30am-2:00pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they do not come to school. They will complete assigned lessons at home with parental guidance. The academy provides all the necessary materials for the at-home lessons which are always kept short, simple yet highly affective.
Our unique approach to learning
We emphasize a rigorous academic foundation, critical thinking, and an appreciation for timeless knowledge and Biblical truths. Our classroom is designed to promote hands-on learning and to foster curiosity. Additionally,
we offer a distinctive approach to education that blends elements of Montessori and classical philosophies. While we are not a fully Montessori or classical school, we draw inspiration from these methodologies to inform our teaching practices.
